What is Ayurveda?

Ayurveda, the ancient Science of Life, is a comprehensive and holistic healing system that originated in India over 5,000 years ago. At its core, Ayurveda recognises that every individual is unique: a distinct blend of physical, mental, and emotional traits, known as their Prakruti, or constitution.

This constitution can be influenced by a range of internal and external factors such as emotional well-being, diet, lifestyle choices, seasonal changes, weather, physical injury, and interpersonal relationships. By understanding how these factors impact our natural balance, we can make conscious choices to restore harmony and support overall health and well-being.

Ayurveda views health as a dynamic balance between order and disorder. When we gain insight into the nature of imbalance, we can take steps to restore equilibrium. It is a system rooted in the deep connection between the individual and the environment.
